Moths make their way by moonshine
in fitful flashes of light powdered wings
they brush against the jasmine vines
and all the headiness of nocturnal scents
settles layer by layered silence
yet when the moon's a daydreamer
pale flowers and foliage filigreed silver
spread a creamy fluoresent track
- enough to guide the night flyers back
Kerry invites us to throw the light of the moon into the imaginary garden’s micro poem prompt
Nice… wait for that luna moth to arrive 🙂
Into the moon garden
This whole thing is so very rich in expression….but I particularly love the last two lines…something about that ‘creamy fluorescent track’ as a runway guide for those night flyers is just divine.
Thank you for such an appreciative comment x
Such rich images here, Laura 😀 especially love “yet when the moon’s a daydreamer pale flowers and foliage filigreed silver spread a creamy fluorescent track – enough to guide the night flyers back.” sigh….❤️ Beautifully executed.
That’s how I visualise a moon garden without moonlight 😀
Such an effective inclusion of sensory images.
Such a visual prompt Kerry ❤
Love the image of that silver… I have always thought the moon be silver…
And silver leaved foliage looks positively metallic under moonshine
A beautiful thought and a beautiful image! I’ve seen some lovely moon gardens in recent years that seem so magical.
Like moth to the flame have always been drawn to the idea of one 😬
Very lovely!
Thank you Rosemary –
