There are always trees but a white Buddha riding is not so usual a slow ride too after much fasting pale and thin from long hours in Banyan shade red bull and gold fragmented light - spirit traveller on the one way trip to Bliss
A brief journey in 44 words for the Quadrille #39: Bliss
Oh I love the idea of a one way trip to bliss….I feel like a spirit traveler these days…fabulous image!
yes evidently still in enlightenment mode Donna – this wasone of those times when the poem followed the photoart
“red bull and gold fragmented light ” Really loved to see this line. A zen vibe all over the poem beginning from the title.
thank you Sumana – easier said than done though!
Your description really resonates. I so enjoyed the read.
Guessed you to be a seeker as there is a quality of mystique in your poems Kerry
There is such a palpable sense of ‘not worrying about things that you cannot change’ in your poem. Beautifully penned.
Thank you for this observation – I only know it tripped onto the page
I agree with Sumana–there is a Zenlike quality about this–the Buddha in each of us on a quest for nirvana/bliss.
Reassuring to think this mad world is illusion!
I liked the idea of bliss being a “one way trip”.
Seemingly no turning back Frank 😉
I like your take on Bjorn’s prompt for the quadrille. This appeals to the “Buddha” or “god” in all of us.
I always enjoy the quadrilles and Björn’s bliss was the icing on the cake
I enjoyed it as well. This was an excellent poem. I enjoyed it even more on the third reading.
especially pleased that you took the time – many thanks
Always a pleasure!
I really like this.. a one way ticket to bliss… if we can find the road, that should be the way to walk.
If is a mighty word – and thank you for this prompt Björn
“white Buddha riding” — evocative image!
it was the image that rode in first too 🙂
We all see bliss differently but I am glad that contentment thinking, praying and doing no harm is a good yardstick to go by.
according to the Tradition Bliss goes hand in hand with emptiness – I’m still to full of myself!
a one way trip… i haven’t mastered that yet!
no can still see all the sliproads Margaret 🙂
A delight to read.
thank you Rosemary- that is important for the poem!
Very apt way to illustrate the notion that bliss is both journey and destination — showered with light.
nicely seen Brendan
