humdrum hermit

moist pavements in tears and veiled
lamps sucked reflections from wet ground
I used to love the dark, sad evenings
moods of melancholy wrapped
the leafless landscape full of poetry
- now the cup was emptied
to the living heart of the world

Some erasure poetry lifted from Hermann Hesse’s novel – (see text Steppenwolf p19) for Victoria’s prompt:Look What I Found! dVerse MTB
