Ever been inside a foam mesh fruit protector?

Evidently the architects of Kings Cross station concourse envisaged such a thing when they built “Europe’s largest single-span station structure, comprising of 16 steel tree form columns that radiate from an expressive, tapered central funnel.” It’s certainly something to gaze upon whilst waiting for the departures board to flag up the relevant platform.

  1. I actually really like that structure. Only changed trains at Kings Cross twice, and both times it was so busy I couldn’t be bothered to take my camera out of the bag. Of course, in hindsight, I wish I had. Although like with many British train stations, I wish I could have this one all to my self for an hour to take pictures.
