A photo a week challenge: Sun &Water

Light breaks where no sun shines

~ Dylan Thomas ~

A wind has blown the rain away and blown the sky away … I think, I too, have known autumn too long.

Half lifted by the rising wind,
Half eager for the ungain’d shore,
A great green wave of shining light
Sweeps onward crowned with dazzling white

William Sharp

Strong winds finally blew the dark clouds away and suddenly there it was – sun, lighting the water, turning the skies blue, at Southbourne beach.

    • thank you Jude – the blue sky moments were a pleasant end to a very blustery afternoon but we photographers can appreciate the beauty (if wrapped up warm)

  1. Dylan Thomas. We were sheltering from the rain under some very old and substantial milkwood trees. And wondered why he called it Under Milk Wood. Have been digging in Google, apparently named for a London street where he lived.

    • thank you for that info – I never bothered to enquire assuming somehow it was yet another local area epithet as in Donkey Down, Lovers Lane, Lovers Leap etc
