Watching the season swallow the last dregs of winter, I look on with relish. Like seeing an old enemy vanquished; the last frosting on the shadier edges in melt, the thermometer clutching at double figures and the landscape's remarkable transfiguration. Predictable this ringing the changes; months of light and warmth ahead, the sheer buzz and beauty of life even down to the spectacle of falling leaves.
Forever looking on and at, year in year out, as if an entertaining show. Easy to give praise and thanks for such, until seer and seen emerge conjoined from that misty dream*. In fact, I've never been observer after all, just another participant, undergoing the very same changes. Every day unfurls as it must. There have been many such unfurlings, I feel the touch of limitation.

For Lisa’s Prosery Prompt “Life in a Cup of Tea” and the given italicised line is from Adrienne Su’s poem: “Oolong”
A lovely, gentle reflection on time passing and the seasons, Laura, as an ‘entertaining show’. I love the phrase ‘watching the season swallow the last dregs of winter’.
