It’s been decision time lately as this blog’s renewal date was looming. So I sat and gave this quite a lot of thought and just as I was weighing up whether or not to close PoetryPix once and for all, WP took the money and took the decision off my hands. The moral of the story is turn off automatic renewal.
Am I unhappy about it? Not really though I’m sure it’s not just me that has lost the will to post since there are less and less of us in this particular personal blogosphere. Not selling anything, not spouting anything, just throwing some words and pix together.

Yes I’ve been blue,
Not known whether I’m coming or going

I’ve shed a few tears
Said quite a few prayers too

but hey it’s June, and everything is coming up roses at least in my garden England’s Rose is blooming now (and what a first world problem this whole matter really is)

Well, I’ve been having this debate with myself too, Laura. So loving your wryly creative response to having your mind made up for you.
Please stay Tish – I look forward to all the changes you are making and it’s always helpful to catch up with veg producing!
Thanks for the encouragement, Laura. Just having a doldrummy interlude, blogging-wise.
it seems to be catching Tish so lets hold virtual hands
We must!
Oh, don’t you dare! Who else will I get my Shropshire fix from, not to mention the Africa memories.
I second that Jude
I consider myself TOLD, Jude. Thanks for being such a loyal blogging chum 🙂
Last time I had that debate was back in February / March and decided to make it hard on me and redesign the blog entirely! Still not sure I took the right decision! 🤣 I am glad though that your automatic payment went through! 😉 Happy June!
Oh and there was me thinking you were still so busy with the house that you had no time to post -instead you have slipped off my Reader radar (along with numerous people – another reason it is so quiet!) I will pop over to comment now I know your are posting and have a blog redesign
Truth is I’ve been very busy in the garden.. digging, planting, weeding… you name it! But I noticed too that after a while wordpress ‘cleans up’ the reader [not to mention other annoying changes!]. I hope you are refreshed!
I’m glad I was not refreshed from your Reader 😉 yes I guessed you were busy with real life but I was not getting notifications when you did post ;(
p.s. I think WP have recently messed with the likes which have stopped appearing if I don’t write below a photo yet they are there in the Reader
I know exactly how you feel. I also wish there were more just images and words and less marketing and promotion. I get it, but there’s so much of it that it detracts from what should primarily be a place to share, not sell.
In any case, I’ll be glad to keep seeing you pop up nmy reader. (K)
many thanks Kerfe – the feeling is mutual as I enjoy how you combine art and poetry
Thanks Laura.
How are your art explorations going?
Just begun again delving abstractly into paint, making collages etc and learning more from vids that inspire
That’s good. I look forward to seeing what comes out of it.
❤️
that speaks volumes – thank you Paul!
I’m glad you are still here, Laura!
how nice of you to say so x
Well I for one am glad that WP took the decision out of your hand. I love to read your poetry and admire your pix. I simply think of my blogs as keeping a record of things I do and places I visit. An inexpensive hobby compared to some. Keep on sharing with us Laura.
Yes its hard to keep focused sometimes on the purpose of the blog- certainly my garden blog is a journal and plant list etc but recently a bout of ennui has left poetry and photography on the shelf which happened around the time of the renewal – anyway thank you Jude for such a kind comment, the Muse is stirring again!
I have the same thoughts about my travel blog as I no longer travel as extensively as I once did.
sometimes they lose their purpose but can be repurposed – or ended and another begun with a fresh look at something else
So glad WP made the decision for you 🙂 And the nice way you described your dilemma underlined by the pics that go with every thought, I think that’s also a sign you should be staying and living your creativity in this blog. The dilemma of people fleeing the blogosphere and moving to the social media fast lane has indeed been sad to see, but I find that a lot of people I met online when I first started out are still around, and that makes it worthwhile, too.
Thank you for such reassuring feedback – I so agree with that last remark!!!!
