Ever since a child I longed for wings and curly hair but my locks are persistently straight so much so that even a 90s perm failed to hold for long. Instead my eldest daughter was gifted with auburn pre-Raphaelite curls. Neither of us yet have wings so this wire fairy sculpture of Robin Wright’s was a delightful encounter at Trentham Gardens last week.
For today’s Rag Tag Daily prompt : hair

Oh how I would love a big garden in which to put a sculpture like this.
ahh Donna – yours surely could once have hosted this fairy?
Yes indeed it could have
Don’t we always want what we don’t have? I have the curly locks and always wanted straight hair, my daughter has straight hair and as a child had the perfect bob.
That is one very beautiful fairy.
grass is greener….hair is never to our liking. I admire these sculptures because the artist somehow achieves a sense of movement out of wire. Have you ever been to Trentham gardens near Stoke?
No never got there, though it was on my radar when we lived in Ludlow.
What a beautiful capture of this fairy with those dramatic clouds! As for hair… as I often say, they have a mind of their own. Rarely obey! 😉 xoxo
thank you Marina – her unruly hair and those clouds make it look as though she is about to fly away – and flyaway is a good description of my hair! 😉
A ha ha haaa…. I like ‘flyaway’! Well, look at it this way, we’ve got independent hair! 😉
ha ha Marina – I shall always think of it this way now
😉
I like the way the sky interacts with the wings.
I have the same situation as you do–older daughter got the thick curly hair I wanted–she wishes hers was straight. I’ve come to like mine though. (K)
thank you Kerfe- I’ve come to accept my hair as with age it has thickened and even has a wave of sorts if not too long – and now she can deal with her own knots, my daughter knows that her hair is a crowning glory
Oh my, that is a beautiful sculpture! All that hair, so intricately done…
fluidity in wire – I cant help but be drawn to these
