Once a hostelry for the 14th century stone masons building the adjacent parish church of St Andrew, the ‘Drake Manor’ has been an inn for almost 900 years. And no doubt Sir Francis Drake himself rode over from nearby Buckland estate for a pub lunch. I certainly enjoyed it.
