“Contorted by wind,
mere armatures for ice or snow,
the trees resolve
to endure for now, they will leaf out in April.
And I must be as patient
as the trees—
a winter resolution..”
Sunday Sayings: extract from Linda Pastan’s “The months” to accompany this ivy clad armature of an old riverside tree

Beguiling winter branches in a simple monochrome. The aqueduct (?) receding into the light and away from the focus makes it all so rich
thank you for being beguiled as I was by this subject – the background is actually a stone viaduct of 1908 built on a realigned railway, engineered by the famous Victorian Isambard Kingdom Brunel no less. No doubt it adds a certain import!
I love looking at the patterns of branches in winter. Especially beautiful in greyscale. (K)
