I’d planned to participate in this week’s Monochrome Madness bird theme but had to attend to other things, including a walk to town this morning. One way is to go via the park and since as usual I had my pocketable Ricoh GRiii I’d hoped to bag a few bird shots as it were, although in reality I would have needed the Canon with a zoom lens. However there was little time to tarry and even the water birds were uncooperative except for these two mallard ducks, blissfully feeding after visitors had thrown them some grain.
Back home, unpacking the shopping a young robin flew in so between the chase, the grabbing my camera, and the freeing, I managed this couple of hurried shots.

Joining Leanne for this Monochrome Madness #16 Birds with thanks to Elke from elastic for the prompt choice.
