- the naiad Daphne pursued by Apollo changed into a bay laurel tree (Laurus Nobilis) from which Laura is derived. The foliage in Greco Roman times was worn as a circlet depicting honourable, victorious status
Since today is ‘Learn what your name means’ day, my MTB prompt “The Poetry of Names” is the short and sweet “WaltMarie” poetry style. Even lines of 2 syllables can be read as a mini verse (I did not quite manage that!).
