Isolation #15

This part of Suffolk, is a seemingly ideal place to spend these days of isolation. But friends here have expressed their concerns about Londoners having moved in to their second homes with all the consequential pressures and anxieties that brings. Moreover they are a self-employed couple and since their catering business is closed (except for deliveries of which there are few compared to the bustling business they normally run) their economic worries are significant. Add to that the frustration of not being active and about their business, family life soon becomes something of a pressure cooker.

The dark side of couple companionship in isolation is domestic violence, as some news items have already revealed but of course it could also lead to greater intimacy now that families have more time for each other. As that old chestnut of a quote goes: “the family that plays together, stays together”. Keep playing!

For as long as I'm well, am posting a pic a day to enhance these Covid-19 times of isolation and lockdown
