A cornered conceit

…”The glass conceals, till (splitting sun) it dances
Lanterns in lanes of light its own streaked image.”

Glass Grain ~ Charles Tomlinson

At Doggett’s Coat & Badge pub by the Thames (named after Thomas Doggett, the original organiser of the 300 year old London Bridge to Chelsea rowing race (Oxford-Cambridge). I never stoop to selfies but sometimes try to to emulate Vivian Maier and her Self-Portrait reflections – she was after all rather reclusive when it came to selfhood so her camera with its internal mirrors and prism was a subtle way a placing herself into her environs. My DSLR is mirrorless!

  1. I sometimes try the Maier style selfie as well, but – probably due to the mirrorless camera – it never turns out as elegant as Vivian’s.
