“Too lazy to be ambitious,
Ryokan
I let the world take care of itself.
Ten days’ worth of rice in my bag;
a bundle of twigs by the fireplace.
Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment?
Listening to the night rain on my roof,
I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.”
Well I remember sitting here at the Royal Harbour’s quayside café in Ramsgate watching the rain and the boats come and go. Just drinking coffee and having a long lazy lunch. Sometimes rain is just the excuse we need to be busy doing nothing and remembering good times I had had here just one year before with Martin.

A year ago, the plans we had for this ‘next year’. I am slowly catching up, and again, thinking of ‘next’ year?

Yes and the plans I had the year before went sadly awry

Was it as sudden as it seemed from your blog posts? No warning, or time to prepare?

Absolutely sudden – a discovery one morning – no farewells etc

No words to respond – only a listening and caring ear.
