Making space (1)

Looking through my archive, I realize how infrequently I make good use of white space (I prefer using this term rather than ‘negative’ or ‘blank’ space). Hence I am on a mission to include this compositional effect in my photos more often. I could not have a better starter to this series than these photos taken exactly a year ago when mother nature provided all the white space I could want.

Fog wipes out but is not a blank, inert backdrop. Rather it reduces down to minimalism, accentuating and creating a dramtic sense of distance – I must try to infuse future fogless photos with this same dynamic!
