Ties

Published on 30 Sep 20241 Oct 2024 by Laura Bloomsbury39 Comments
My grandmother saved twine.
After the lean years of war
she knew its worth
as fastener for paper parcels,
crackly brown, or propping
tall chrysanthemums
before the battering storms.
Clematis clambered
and string beans ran their course
along such lines. I miss her still.

Just 44 words for Lisa’s quadrille prompt word: String
