Dead: Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris is a maze of stones and vegetation and 70,000 burial plots – statesmen, soldiers, historians, artists, writers (Molière, Balzac, Oscar Wilde, etc.) and musicians, singers (Frédéric Chopin, Rossini, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf,etc.) as well as the jazz clarinettist Mezz Mezzrow (1899 – 1972), a distant relative by marriage.
Fall: the summer drought in Paris brought an early fall of leaves and the meteorological Autumn had already begun when I visited (though I wait for the astronomical equinox to welcome the new season)
