I was so sad to learn last week that a very elderly neighbour and friend died, after a long spell in hospital. He leaves behind his little dog Rosie – herself a senior of 14 years and so I have given her a home with me. I’d assumed she was a quiet, sleepy little soul in her retirement years but she has surprised me with her perky, fun loving character, with some charming quirky ways.
She’s a black & tan Jack Russell cross with an early history of abuse and hence an RSPCA rescue as a young pup. I do not know how long we will have together as she is not in tip top health but we’ ve already become good companions. Unfortunately the timing is not great as I’m leaving at the weekend for a fortnight holiday to Israel but my daughter is going to step in as interim carer. I shall certainly miss her.
One for Monochrome Monday although she has some lovely colouring beneath her black coat
Enjoy your trip and your new friend 😊
Thanks David – looking forward to being there in Tiberias /Tverya but lots to miss here too!
O my, what a beautiful thing to do ❤️
Thanks Paul – I think even she thinks so now!
I wish I was closer. I am looking for a senior pup. My Mr. Murray passed 2 years ago and we are just getting out of that. It is so very sad, but it is wonderful you are taking care of the love.
my senior cat Moog died in November and I assumed I would have another at some time – instead this lovely old canine has been heaven sent!
Oh, you are so sweet and Rosie is very fortunate in her loss.
Have a beautiful and safe trip and back. xo
Yes a good thing to come out of her loss for both of us – thank you for your good wishes Marina
What a wonderful face she has. You are both lucky to have found each other.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip. (K)
thank you Kerfe – her face is especially wonderful, donned with elf like ears
Awww, so cute! Am quite envious as ever since becoming friendly with friend’s small dachshunds I’ve been pondering have a cute little dog myself…
Sorry, Laura, seem to have lost grip on my grammar there for a bit 😂
it happens to us all Kiki- I’ve noticed how lax I’m becoming!
A companion like that might be just what you have room for in your life now!
That is an endearingly quirky little face.
Travel safe!
Glad you can see it Diana – could not resist inviting her to share my home now
