Each blog anniversary reminds me that I took up the camera as substitute for cigarettes – it helped me in the short term. I suppose I began to think about taking photography more seriously, amateurish but learning and improving but now I rest on my laurels such as they are,content to make do with the limits of my talent in a snap happy way.
My goto camera is the pocketable Ricoh GRiii, a sometime outing with a Lumix G6, iPhone 14 and more rarely a Canon EOS SD [click for closer views]
My brother-in-law was a professional photographer and having lost virtually all of his sight, he gave me all his camera equipment in March 2024 including his Canon EOS. This photo is one I took when he first gave me his camera –

He died last night after a long illness so I dedicate this post to a true photographer
