“From you have I been absent in the spring,
W. Shakespeare ~ Sonnet 98
When proud pied April dress’d in all his trim
Hath put a spirit of youth in every thing”…
Not only is cabin fever beginning to effect many of us but isolation means a total lack of companionship, especially for people like me who live alone. Thus the Bard speaks of not being able to enjoy the Spring because of an absence from a friend/loved one. Nevertheless I try to relish all the delights of new growth that comes with this time of year. Happy April 1st and no fooling!
For as long as I'm well, am posting a pic a day to enhance these Covid-19 times of isolation and lockdown
The isolation is no small thing. Am wafting some good spirits in your direction, Laura. And that is a very lovely photo.
many thanks Tish – our virtual connections are beginning to really count.
A lovely shot. Even though I am not alone I am feeling very much locked in and I have a garden and countryside to walk in! It is just so hard to get my head around.
The only comfort to having to be in is the worry of what’s out there!
Very true.
Happy April, my dear Laura! Here’s to that “spirit of youth”! xoxo
thank you – I am much in need of that as almost have forgotten what it is 😉
News and all that tend to make us forget! 😉
