Positively fair-and-square

The 1st of the month and I have that high as the sky 4th of July feeling as well as the 24th (my birthday) so into the garden and out with Ricoh’s positive film effect and the 1:1 ratio.

The bleeding hearts are dying back of course but remain photogenic up to the last. And summery Gazanias are replacing them with some blooms already past their gaudy best – yet still compelling.

At the other end of the spectrum…

Emerging high above their foliage, curious forms of plantain lily buds and looking fresh as daisies, the first of the Japanese Cosmos blooms

An almost abstract shot at the sun within the red leaved acer but through it and over the glass roof of the greenhouse, fresh tendrils of an Oriental clematis
