The more I read up on photography and follow the more advanced contributors on YouTube, the more I flounder with my own photography. Thus Mundane Monday is a great chance to exhibit the ordinary, the lack of wow but just to think of shape and background, patterns and repetition. It seems to work best for me in monochrome too.
One place to explore this is on a train ride, confined to your seat and not distracted by iPhones. So I took out the Ricoh GRiii and grab a few shots just for the fun of it.

Carriage lights inevitably reflect through the window but rather than erase them, I find they can add to the scene – i.e. running parallel with the telegraph lines (top) or creating a bit of a zap between the cooling tower
