An errant ewe

Published on 16 Oct 202316 Oct 2023 by Laura Bloomsbury31 Comments
first I was just
a wandering stray
stumbled across stubble
broke a hock on the rocky ground
where seeds dried to husks
finally fled the fold
that took in ingenues
silly and sacrificial

even with a flock of one, Lord
you're always the shepherd

Just 44 words for De’s quadrille prompt: Fold
