As the moon meandered across the face of the sun with yesterday’s solstice, I took a sultry evening stroll across these fields, golden dry in this summer of heatwaves and drought, yet still the sheep found plenty to graze
and very welcome were these cool views of Derbyshire’s river Derwent and Chatsworth House though I was not tempted to join my daughter in her wild water swim here but instead went roaming further on
and as we left for home, I switched to black and white which makes the whole experience cooler!

A nicely curated group of related pictures. The antiqued color palette looks well-suited with the monochromes, and the concluding landscape closes the book
my iPhone produced the 2 antiqued colour images without any extra filters so that was a bit of a surprise – and I’m always hesitant about combining colour & b&w in a post but as you observed that last shot completed the meander

I love that first picture, Laura! Despite the yellowing grass, it gives off a vibe of a cool(ing) place to be underneath the green canopy of the trees. The light is marvellous.
