The beauty of Suffolk is also the skies – they seem to hover just overhead or reach around like a comfort blanket. In this flat landscape horizons beckon and the ever-present waters of the Deben lap and lull with the tide. To capture these views, I break the photography rule of thirds and go halves. Good light also means my Ricoh CX3 can shutter down with some alacrity.

A last ramble with my rather tired old Ricoh CX3 in Suffolk
Halves is THE way to go! Gorgeous shots!
thank you, Marina – the only way is half water, half sky 🙂
Exactly! 😉
Halves works with skies and reflections like these. Big skies, lots of clouds and still water – perfect.
and I think too works best on the narrower aspect ratios
Also true.
